BRC FIELD AMBASSADOR
MISSION STATEMENT
The Blue Ribbon Coalition (BRC) Field Ambassador Program exists to expand and strengthen BRC’s on-the-ground presence across the United States, ensuring that responsible motorized recreation is represented, understood, and protected in every region where access decisions are being made.
BRC advocates for continued access to public lands and waters across all qualifying motorized recreation modalities—including four-wheel drive, side-by-side and ATV use, motorcycles, snowmobiles, personal watercraft, and other legally recognized forms of motorized access. The Field Ambassador Program is designed to ensure that no region, modality, or emerging issue is overlooked.

Expanding National Reach and Regional Capacity

Public land management decisions are increasingly regional, complex, and fast-moving. While BRC operates at a national level, the scope and pace of proposals, closures, rulemakings, and planning actions make it impractical for any single organization to maintain consistent, real-time awareness everywhere at once.
Field Ambassadors expand BRC’s capacity by serving as knowledgeable, regionally focused representatives. They provide early visibility into local issues, agency actions, and community concerns—allowing BRC to engage more effectively while opportunities for meaningful input still exist.
Early Awareness, Informed Response, and Trend Identification
Many access losses develop gradually through patterns, trends, and incremental decisions. A core function of the Field Ambassador Program is to improve early detection of emerging issues so BRC can respond faster, with better information and stronger local context.
By maintaining situational awareness across multiple regions and motorized use types, Field Ambassadors help BRC identify trends early, prioritize resources appropriately, and engage in a more informed and effective manner—reducing the risk that one area or modality receives less attention while others demand immediate focus.

Representation at Events and Public Engagement

Field Ambassadors also serve as official representatives of the Blue Ribbon Coalition at local and national events within their regions. This includes participation in shows, trail events, public meetings, expos, and other gatherings where outreach, education, and engagement are valuable.
To support this role, BRC provides training on effective representation, messaging, and public engagement, along with approved materials for booths, displays, and outreach efforts. This ensures consistent, accurate communication of BRC’s mission, positions, and values—while strengthening relationships with local communities, partners, and land managers.

Coordinated Advocacy and a Unified Voice

The Field Ambassador Program creates a structured, coordinated national framework that replaces fragmented or reactive advocacy with organized regional awareness and collaboration. It strengthens—not replaces—national leadership by combining local knowledge with national strategy.
Together, Field Ambassadors and BRC staff form a unified network working proactively to protect access, support responsible motorized recreation, and ensure that motorized use remains a recognized and respected part of America’s public lands and waters.
